A Practical Guide for Studying God's Word
By Dr Kevin Smith
The level of Biblical illiteracy amongst Christians seems unprecedented since the Reformation. Believers own more Bibles than ever before but seldom read them except devotionally. This book seeks to empower believers to mine the treasures of God's Word for themselves by mastering simple, practical skills of Bible study.
Smith presents user-friendly principles and procedures for personal study and illustrates each principle with powerful examples from the Scriptures. The book focuses on how to interpret a passage, but also presents models for doing both topical and devotional Bible study. It will be a valuable aid for anyone serious about learning to ‘rightly divide the word of truth' (2 Tim. 2:15).
